Born into a boating family in North Carolina, John grew up around sailboats, fishing boats, and classic Carolina craftsmanship. What began as a childhood passion evolved into a lifetime of experience. Years spent sailing thousands of miles for races, yacht deliveries, offshore passages, and coastal cruising.
Over the past decade, John has owned and operated nearly every type of vessel imaginable, including sailboats, trawlers, center consoles, sportfishing yachts, and motor yachts. His hands-on expertise comes not just from ownership, but from working in multiple boat repair facilities, where he learned the technical side of marine systems, fiberglass, engines, and yacht maintenance.
Before launching Swift Marine, John spent several years as a yacht broker, giving him a unique perspective on vessel value, resale considerations, and the level of maintenance required to keep a boat performing and looking its best.
